There's my Blue Steel face. Oh, we got plenty of pictures, but most of them turned out too silly to post...
Shoulder detail. This must've taken forever. Mum told me she was inspired by renaissance-era clothing when she was a teenager; ergo, ruffles abound. This is definitely a unique piece though, and I'm trying to find ways to wear it that don't make me look like I've lost my ruff and scepter.
Thanks for the dress, Mum. Looks like I'm carrying on the sewing legacy.

Your mum made that without a pattern?! Holy cannoli, it is stunning! Love the details and love that vibrant red color!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? And you'll have to take my word for this, but it is very well constructed too.
Deletewoo! my grandma gave me a coupld pieces she had made herself. Its so exciting, especially since she was my size! She used so many vintage sewing techniques that its fun to look through and perv on the seams ;-)
ReplyDeleteConsider me jealous. So far the oldest thing I have in my closet is from the 60's.
