More Vogue 8772! Because you can never have enough Vogue 8772.
This one was made of a yard and a half of (what I believe to be) cotton lawn, which has the nicest hand in the world you guys. Seriously, I wish I could convey to you how dreamy this fabric feels.
Worn with my self-drafted skirt, which never got its own blog post. I think the shoulder seam is about an inch too long, but that's not difficult to fix. The sleeve has a lot of pouf to work with.
I ended up shortening the sleeves out of fabric constraints. I rather like the length, actually, it's nice for June weather. And when I roll up the sleeves...
Tada! Even more summery!
The collar is a bit stiff, due to plenty of interfacing, but I remain hopeful that a few washings will do the trick. The buttons were pulled off a thrifted dress, and are covered with black velvet, which is adorable. These also give you a better idea of the fabric, which is not only curlicued, but has little wolves and tunic-clad men playing flutes! Does fabric get any better?
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a surprise party to attend in my fabulous hand-made outfit.
